KHC's Affordable DAP offers the same $6,000 in DPA but at just 1% interest — roughly half the rate of the regular DAP. The lower rate reduces monthly payments on the second mortgage to under $55/month, making it one of the cheapest DPA products in the Southeast.
The reduced rate is available to buyers with household income below 60% of area median income. For qualifying buyers, the savings over the life of the second mortgage compared to the regular DAP total several hundred dollars.
